Hello, I'd love to know opinions on T2's drinking coffee. There is so much conflicting info out there in cyberspace. I have 1 cup of coffee a day, 1 lousy cup with no sugar or coffee-mate which I know is garbage but love it. I've already had to give up having coffee prepared the way I love it and just cannot stop my 1 morning cup...even without coffe-mate now. I am seeing a trend of higher test results in the mornings. Not outside of my non diabetic ranges but significantly higher. That includes my fbg. Today, my fbg was back down to double digits but at 99. It's never been below the mid 90's and a few times it's been as high as 113. Even with no snacking after dinner! The mornings are always higher than throughout the rest of the day and now am wondering if that's due to the 1 cup of coffee. Please don't advise to experiment and do without the coffee, that's something I cannot give up unless my very life depended on it! I never sleep through the night either, waking up at least twice a night then going back to sleep. That could also be the culprit, not sure. All morning ranges are the highest up until after lunch. I typically consume no more than about 20 carbs in breakfast. So, my question is who drinks a cup of coffee in the morning and what effect, if any, does it have on you? Thanks I didn't find the right solution from the internet. References: community.diabetes.org/discuss/viewtopic/3/12406?post_id=130727Animated Corporate Video

I don't drink coffee to wake up, I wake up to drink coffee. For me, it's literally a motivation to get up early. Because then the house will be noisy, and I need that hour of time alone with myself. During that time, I can read, work, work out, or just relax with a cup of coffee on the balcony.
